Nate Vallejo
Once you’ve experienced the “golden” state of mind, there’s no going back.
A taste of the foothills is all it took for singer/songwriter Nate Vallejo to find his calling in Northern California. In his early twenties, Nate was traveling the countryside and finding inspiration for his band back on the east coast. He worked at various farms throughout the Sierra Nevada, writing music, and learning the ways of horticulture unseen back in the southeast. He was intrigued by the environment, local culture, and was completely blown away when he saw his first legal cannabis plant. This was truly an alien world, but the vibes kept him coming back. Nate even met his wife while on a farm in 2017- and although they made the move to his home state of North Carolina, California kept calling them back.
California was Nate’s muse. The creativity he drew from his travels played a huge role in his writing. His band, Mr. Darcy, drew from his favorite bands and classic rock headliners like The Black Keys. Although he was sometimes the odd-man-out due to his travels, Nate still led the band. He played guitar, vocals and even percussion. Mr. Darcy had their major album release in 2018; Carolina Skies (available on Spotify!) But after the big release party, his “Rolling Stone” days wrapped up with the decision to permanently move to California. Although Nate still does some independent singing performances, his travelling musician days have come to an end with the start of a new journey.
Nate had lived all over Northern California, but he and his family settled in down Grass Valley. The incredible sense of community, art, free activities, and nature events catered to their way of life. One of the reasons behind settling in this area was the unique and beautiful housing market. And now Nate helps others find their own slice of heaven nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. With his farming background, he helps potential farmers and homesteaders find the perfect location for their small operations and assists families in finding their dream home in a unique community.
Nate and his team are centrally located in Nevada county, but they service Placer, Yuba, Sierra, and Sacramento counties, with Truckee and Tahoe coming soon.
