I have spent the last 20 years learning, teaching, living and preaching about off the grid and sustainable lifestyles.
It started back in 2003 when I converted the entire transportation system at UC Santa Cruz to run off Biodiesel. I then helped to form a club that would continue the movement after I graduated. From there I launched a business converting diesel engines to run off recycled vegetable oil from local restaurants. Anything from tractors and generators to cars and trucks. That landed me a teaching job overseas in Brazil at the largest Permaculture Institute in South America (IPEC).
In Brazil , along with learning Portuguese and meeting my future wife, I learned to do most forms of natural building including Cob, Strawbale, wattle and daub, superadobe, earth plasters, living roofs and more. I also learned advanced permaculture designs and techniques. That included grey water systems, homemade water catchment tanks, mushroom growing, compost toilets, biogas, solar dehydrators and swales on a contoured hillside for water catchment.
I took that knowledge and created a sustainable lodge and research center in the old growth forests of Costa Rica. There I learned to speak Spanish had a beautiful daughter and created a bamboo building and export business. Protecting and teaching about the beautiful old growth forests and sustainable lifestyle became my passion until 2008. Then the world economy changed and I had to adapt with it moving back to the good ol US of A.
After years of book keeping for non-profits in the Bay Area and then almost completing my certification as an electrician I decided I was happier serving the land and helping others realize their dreams in sustainability and off grid living. That’s when I found real estate. I love selling real estate! Its all about becoming a trusted advisor and helping others find what they have spent most of their life preparing to buy. I have yet to find something else that allows me to use all of my knowledge all in one place.
